TSA PreCheck

Keep your shoes on!

TSA PreCheck allows American Citizens to keep their shoes on through the expedited lines in many airports, as well as their belts. Citizens with TSA PreCheck do not have to line up to be prodded and groped by the Transportation Security Administration, nor have their laptops and jackets scanned.

Certainly, no one actually relishes taking off their shoes, surrendering their water bottles and posing spread-eagled for electronic scanners, but perhaps many do not take the time to register for TSA PreCheck. While standing in long lines to have everything in possession scanned is a measure to keep citizens safe, and defend us against the threat of terrorism, or at least a measure to reassure travelers that they are safe, it is an ordeal and can be avoided.

For $75 every five years, travelers may obtain TSA Pre-Check status by applying through the TSA website and attending a brief meeting with a TSA "enrollment provider." Going through customs is one less hassle that may be avoided when traveling and well worth the time spent enrolling with TSA PreCheck. Take the time to enroll in TSA PreCheck and keep your shoes on!
