I travel frequently. Several times a year. At times I do it myself online and other times I use an agent. Greece with a smidge of Asia. Truly blessed and lucky to have been able to go to all the places I did and do all the stuff I did in just 13 days while solo and in group. Without all the in advance planning, it wouldn’t have been this amazing. Literally covered more in 2 weeks than someone could cover in 3 or 4 going alone. When my preparations combined with yours, we successfully merged 2 touring companies with only 2 unfortunate cancellations due to exhaustion. Got to do both the famous excavation sites/museums, and the exotic swimming, snorkeling, hiking, and even wakeboarding. Seemed things just kept getting better. I hit tears of joy in Rhodes when I got to swim in that cave and in those bays. That was huge to see some of my planning intuition fall into schedule as well. Had to do me to make all this happen and stayed cool for the most part haha

It’s every small step with each moment until one gets to the top. And that’s for one of the most breathtaking views ever seen before. Feels good that I’ve trained my mind and body enough to do it and I’m blessed that I had a team follow me up for the endeavor.

The honeymoon was an adventure. We rented a Jeep Wrangler and drove all over the island. We even took the Jeep onto the car ferry over to St. John! We visited a different beach everyday, snorkeled everyday, and went to red hook every night for supper. The location of the bed and breakfast was very convenient. The snorkeling was amazing. We snorkeled over sea turtles, sting rays, and a bunch of species of fish! We went to mermaids chair and stood in between the Atlantic and Caribbean Sea!

It was definitely an adventure and we are glad we went! If anyone is looking for a pure adventure St. Thomas is the place to go! Thank you Sweet Magnolia Travel!

I am not an easy client to assist. My husband and I don’t always see eye to eye on the style of vacation we want. He wants a relaxing all-inclusive experience with easy access to water sports. I want to see sites, explore and adventure! Carmen helped us find the perfect compromise in the lovely boutique hotel, Hotel Jardin Del Eden in Tamarindo, Costa Rica.

We knew we wanted to visit Costa Rica and Mark wanted to scuba dive and sail. I wanted to experience the culture, food, beaches, maybe river raft and try out a zip line. We got all of the above. Tamarindo is known for its water sports and activities. The Hotel offered several excursions, Some of the best scuba diving in the country is located nearby. Carmen set us up on a scuba tour to Las Catalinas where we enjoyed a full day of some of the best diving either of us have experienced. Sharks, rays, all sorts of colorful and unique aquatic life, eels, sea urchins, star fish, large schools of fish – The whole deal!

Carmen also set us up to go on the Adrenalin Tour, a full day tour in the mountains near Liberia which included horseback riding, river rafting down mountain river rapids for over an hour, zip-lining through the canopy, down a waterfall, and into a tall, narrow river gorge, followed by hot mineral springs and mud baths. That pretty much took care of the rest of my bucket list

While we were there, we also added a catamaran trip, with full bar, lunch, swimming and snorkeling, as well as a morning two hour horseback ride through a nearby ranch and on to the Tamarindo Beach. Both were great fun! I highly recommend all of the tours.

In between our adventures, we took leisurely days by the beautiful hotel pools situated in the lush garden just outside of the hotel by the restaurant (with full bar, open all day), or at the garden by the ocean, complete with dipping pool and full bar. The package included breakfast and dinner daily. The chef was superb! Every breakfast featured platters of fresh fruits, interesting canapes, a yogurt bar, baked goods, omelet station, and a full buffet including vegetables, rice and beans, and meat, as well as different juices and mimosas. We were almost never hungry for lunch! For dinner, we were given a choice of appetizers, entrees, and dessert. And because we stayed longer than a week, we received a ticket to have dinner at one of the restaurants associated with the sister Hotel Diria. We enjoyed fine dining at Las Pelicanos down the street – a delightful experience.

Finally, the staff at the Hotel Jardin del Eden was outstanding, very attentive, congenial, and always smiling. The facility and rooms were beautiful, well appointed, and clean. In fact, they cleaned them every single day, a service many hotels seem to have let go since the pandemic. I requested an oceanview room and the view was breathtaking – looking over a great expanse over the hotel gardens and pool and out to the ocean and mountains along the shoreline. The balcony featured seats for relaxing and had enough floorspace to easily accommodate our yoga practice every morning. From the balcony, we could see iguanas on the rooftop of the restaurant and howler monkeys in the mango trees below. Fantastic!

Carmen was instrumental in fixing our airline reservations when American Airlines changed our flights to the impossible. Our original departure was scheduled from Liberia in late morning, to connect with a DFW flight to SC. They abruptly changed our flight to departing from San Jose at 6:30 am, which would have been a geographical impossibility! Carmen spent hours on the phone fixing this up for us, which we truly appreciated. We ended up with decent return flights, no other problems. Among all the other benefits of having a travel agent, having a fixer is one of the best. We were both very grateful.

Out trip was great. We have been talking about it ever since our return. Having Carmen put this trip together was a great load off and she nailed it, perfect place and great service, straight down to delivering the final itinerary for the trip, very helpful. If you need someone to do the research, listen to your needs, find the perfect place and the best price, and go to bat for you when things go wrong, I highly recommend Carmen Holley and Sweet Magnolia Travel.

Our honeymoon to Oyster Bay, Jamaica was an absolute dream! From the time we arrived to when we left we were treated like royalty from all the staff. The food and drinks were amazing & the views were to-die for! While we there we enjoyed swimming with the dolphins and climbing the Dunn’s River Falls.
